Welcome to Droan College of Architecture

Syllabus

The syllabus is designed to understand the built environment with the spaces in and around it. Subjects like Building Construction, Building Structure, Arts & Graphics, Building Services, Climatology and many more contribute to the holistic development of the student. The academic program is divided into two stages as follows...

The First Stage

The first stage of the course is of three academic years /six semesters of academic studies. The first three years of the B.Arch program contribute to a detailed conceptual and logical output in the form of drawings and models (reduced & actual scale).

The Second Stage

In the beginning of this stage (i.e seventh semester) each student undergoes a six month practical training in a reputed and registered architectural firm. After successful completion of the training there is one academic year / two semesters of institutional academic studies. This comprises a group of electives with emphasis on architecture design, interior design, landscape architecture & building construction. In addition to the above there is a thesis project in the last semester to be done concurrently as stipulated in the appended guidelines of the Council of Architecture. Registration under the Architects Act, 1972 is acceptable only after successful completion of all the stages.
